About NLP, Hypnosis and Change
Even if you don't yet recognise the term 'neuro-linguistic programming' (NLP), you may have seen Paul McKenna on TV, or read his articles and interviews in The Times, The Guardian and The Observer about changing lives, quitting smoking, weight loss and removing phobias - and these successes are a direct result of skilled use of NLP and hypnotic techniques.
Paul is now establishing his work on daytime TV in the US. He's left behind a legacy of exquisitely effective change practitioners in the UK - trained in allowing clients to have more satisfying relationships, financial success, make better health and diet choices, gain more confidence and self-esteem, and have more peace, happiness and freedom in their lives. NLP and hypnosis creates change that is lasting, and change that may happen very quickly - although speed is only one advantage.
NLP started in Santa Cruz, California around 1975 as Richard Bandler, a mathematician, and John Grinder, a linguistic professor, observed and decoded how professionals were so successful in their fields. They were seeking the constants in what worked so well, so they could create reproducible models of excellence which became NLP.
Now NLP and hypnosis are an extremely relaxing and powerful set of processes which enable you to unlock your many inner resources and to use great strategies in decision making and living your life. As NLP practitioners we believe that we all have the resources we need within us - but sometimes they're locked and bolted behind an amour-plated door. NLP and hypnosis can be the keys you need to swing the door open as you transform your life.
Hypnosis/Trance The fields of NLP and hypnosis are closely related. Hypnosis enables you to achieve a supremely relaxed trance state quickly, which allows you to make changes at a deep subconscious level - easily. It's like daydreaming. You remain in control while you change.
We use a combination of the waking state and the trance state when working with clients. You may have seen hypnosis used to comic effect in stage shows - crazy people dancing with brooms or thinking they're drunk - that's a world away from our approach. In any form of hypnosis, you can return to your normal waking state whenever you wish. It's like being in a beautiful drifty dream, and you may not want to return to a normal waking state ... too soon.
